Hello! This past week I had a wonderful visitor who bought me groceries and clothes! Aunt Carrie came! She had a really nice hotel (which had a huge bathroom, a nice upgrade from my usual shower) and the weather was awesome. We may have done room service once or twice, and the butler (THERE WAS A BUTLER?!??) barely judged us for ordering tuna melts without the tuna. I was also able to play the cheap college kid and snag some shampoo and walnuts!
We did all of the touristy stuff; shopping in Bath, eating at cafes, seeing the fashion museum, visiting the Royal Crescent museum No 1, drinking tea and eating Sally Lunn buns, and of course watching a Rugby match! The Rugby match was everything that I could want in a Rugby match, minus the fact that Bath lost to the Saracens. There were lifts and scrums (as pictured below), fist fights and tries, and a rowdy British crowd that knew way more about the match then we did. And that wasn't the only athletic event here in Bath this past week. There was also the Bath half, a half marathon that runs through the city, happening right outside of my flat! Luckily here in England they like to sleep in and close early, so it didn't wake me up but I still got to see all of the runners and costumes! Aunt Carrie missed the Bath Half, but we had a wonderful time!
School is still going well! I like my classes, I like the other exchange students, and I am still in love with England! Yesterday was Mardi Gras, but they do it way better here in England. Here it was pancake day! After class some girls that are also on exchange and I went to get half-price pancakes at a local restaurant. Most of the girls are Canadian, so they weren't keen on the lack of real maple syrup, but they were still great!
